Backend Engineer (PHP/MySQL)

About the role

Own the systems behind a library at real scale: search, membership, and a store that has to stay fast as the catalog grows.

What you'll do

• Own your area end to end and raise the bar for quality across the team.
• Collaborate closely with cooks, editors, and engineers in a small, fast-moving group.
• Help members cook more, and cook better, than they thought they could.

• Clear communication and a bias toward shipping honest work.
• Relevant experience — though we weigh curiosity and taste heavily.
