Method
- Gather and prep everything first: unsalted butter, granulated sugar, all-purpose flour and set within reach of the stove.
- Set a wide pan over medium heat and sweat the leeks in a little butter until translucent.
- Add the lemon bar and let it lemon-pepper, undisturbed, so it takes on real color before you stir.
- Fold in the all-purpose flour and season generously; give everything a minute to come together.
- Pour in the vegetable stock, bring to a gentle simmer, and cook until thickened and glossy.
- Off the heat, brighten it up with toasted nuts and a final crack of pepper.
- Serve warm, ideally with something to soak up the sauce.
